what's your favorite Anderson headcanon?
while I have a lot of random Anderson headcanons... my absolute favorite has to be him having a soft spot for animals
Tumblr media
since they fall along the lines of innocent creatures that can do no wrong- which I feel fits along the lines of his orphanage work. Picking stray kids and stray cats off the streets, just Anderson and his pack of strays <3

"Only because I had my parents." Every method, every idea, everything she did, she all learned from Jasmine and Richard. It'd been them she leaned on and asked all her questions to, them who'd been her greatest supporters over the past six years. Aslihan was certain that she would've been a lost cause had it been just her entirely, so she always made sure to give credit where credit is due whenever someone tried to compliment her and her parenting. After all, it felt undeserved in a way. She hadn't initially wanted to become a parent until she had Alex and she hadn't told Alex's father about her for years; She didn't deserve praise. But Atlas... "Stop," she said, softly yet stern. "You would've been amazing and I believe that with all that I am and more. Look at the past few years: you have been nothing short of an incredible father to not just Alex, but to Maggie as well. You sing Frozen songs because you know it makes Alex happy. You've stocked your home up with all kinds of snacks and toys and activities fit for children. You walk around with Maggie strap to your chest with one of those baby carriers, and I could list off more and more. I'm not going to allow you to sell yourself short, Las. Believe me, you would've done far better than I did." Because he almost had to. And, if things going wrong this time around, he might have to. Nodding, she chuckled softly and held her hands up in mock surrender. "Okay, okay. No more, I promise."
Chuckling, she shrugged. "I mean, it's a pretty solid bad joke. I definitely deserve credit for thinking it up." That and because she hoped to have thirty more years at least. If not more. However, she knew how he felt about that and wasn't going to broach the subject again. Not after the way he looked at her at the last family game night where they broached the subject for a moment. Fortunately, the talk about Maya helped distract her. "Oh, come on! It could be an absolute fun time and you know it. Why do you have to do anything? I just want to see you in a sparkly pink suit. That's more than reason enough." If anyone could make it work, it'd be him. And she knew that Maya would be able to work her magic and pull it all together perfectly. "Ugh, fine. Though I am sure that if anyone could make it work, it's you."
Nodding, his words couldn't stop her heart from beating rapidly with anxiety. She didn't want to risk hurting him, but she knew how important this was. "Just say the word and we'll stop at any point," she promised. She winced at his words, unable to look at him to pinpoint his reaction. Of how seeing their daughter be this tiny could affect him. However, she complied to his wishes and kept going. Soon enough reaching the second birthday folder, then pausing to check in on him, then continuing. This method repeated even once they got to Alex's fourth and fifth birthdays, the ones where Atlas was in each video and photograph in person instead of the pictures used in the first three birthdays. Asli's own eyes teared up throughout the process and she even made sure to wipe a few away, hoping that he wouldn't have noticed that she'd been crying. After finishing the final birthday folder, she returned to the main page where an abundance of folder titled with an abundance of memories from teaching Alex how to read to testing out which foods Alex liked to even Asli's pregnancy, a folder she hardly touched herself due to how painful those specific memories were, all showed back up. She couldn't look at him for a moment until, finally, she whispered, "I tried to include you. Every... Every single day, I tried including you by talking about you or showing your photos and videos I took of you to her. But I should've done more. I should've told you and I'm... I-I'm, I'm sorry. I am so, so sorry, Atlas. I tried to reach out to you so many times, but I was so scared and I... I should've tried harder. I should've done better. And I am so sorry for doing this to you and Alex." She didn't expect him to forgive her. If anything, she firmly believed she deserved his hatred. But she had done what she'd done in the end to protect him and Alex. She just couldn't tell him that.
He often wondered how parenthood came so easily to some and not so much to others. Was it a nature v. nurture debate, or were some people born to play such a role while others weren't capable. He'd feared that he was somewhere in between after learning of his first born. What if he wasn't good enough? What if he tried and despite that effort, he fell short? It eased his worries slightly to know that she'd felt the same way — that Aslihan Fahri-Bailey had feared own ability to be enough. "I'm sure you did fine," he corrected with the flash of a weak smile. "Better than I could have done." Regardless of that reassurance, there was no doubt in his mind that the Bailey's had stepped in to help without a moment's worth of hesitation, all while giving the reminder that no matter what she thought, she was good enough. "I don't want to think about that. Not today," he countered smoothly, that same smile hanging off the corner of his mouth. Today was about their daughter turning another year older, not another ten or twenty.
It was mind numbing to say the least, her jokes and how easily they rolled off her tongue and into the air between them. If he humored her over the sash, then he didn't have to think about that with every year he grew older, so did his children, and soon enough, they wouldn't need him anymore. They'd been grown, too wise for their own good. "I don't know if the trademark will be necessary, but hey, if it makes you feel better, then do whatever you have to do." A raspy chuckle was rumbled thick in his throat at the mention of Maya. Of course, if anyone could solve the mystery of how to make Atlas Williams glow in a glittery pink suit, it was her, and there was no question about whether or not she'd be on board. She would, no doubt. "Don't bring her into this. We both know she doesn't say no to a good challenge, especially if it means getting me to wear something like that. Come on, what did I do to deserve this?" Well, if she answered truthfully, there was probably plenty. Far too much for him to want to keep tally of. "I don't think that I can. I've heard once you get settled in, they never let you leave."
He'd asked for this. Despite knowing how fragile he was, he'd asked for this. "I promise I'll say something I can't handle it." Why had he promised something he had no intention of keeping? His grip grew tighter on the chair, each and every picture daring to break him, but it was the video and that quiet giggle of his one year old daughter holding a photo of him that made his heart shatter into the pit of his stomach. While he'd been in Colorado, doing only god knows what, with only god knows who, Aslihan had been somewhere else in the world with their daughter ensuring that her first birthday was perfect. "She was so small," he managed to mutter quietly, haze hues misty from the tears he'd managed to blink away. "Keep going, please." He could handle it. He had to. Nervously, he took a single step closer to the desk, hand still present at the back of her chair in hopes of it being what anchored him to the floor beneath. "I'm good. Just... keep going."

The tea-seller's little boy
On a cold Friday evening, in the month of December, Sudhakar had just opened his small tea-shop. He was running his shop in a small corner on the ever busy East street area from 3 in the afternoon till late evenings. In the morning he would go door to door to deliver milk and cottage cheese.
He was late that day, late by atleast 3 hours. The reason for this was his 6 years old son Raghu. He had been crying inconsolably since last night. The stray puppy that he had brought home just a week ago, had come under the wheels of a car and died. That had shattered him and broke his little heart.
They lived in a one room shanty in a crowded slum but Raghu hardly had any friends. A birth defect had caused him to limp while walking and his friends would tease him everytime they saw him walk because of his funny stance. That would hurt him a lot.
With only a half broken bat and a plastic ball to call a toy Raghu would often play alone. When he was not playing he would stay indoors lost in his thoughts. His mother Savitri would often wonder what a kid so small would deeply think about?
So when that stray puppy followed him home Raghu thought he had found his best friend. The pup too had taken a great liking in him. They called him Sonu. He was all white with scattered black spots all over.
Sonu and Raghu were a bundle of joy together. A true treat for the eyes of his parents. It was like they were made for each other. The little pup wouldn't move from the door when Raghu was out at school. And once back home Sonu would be all over him, licking him all over his face. Sonu's low gruntling noises and Raghu's laughter had filled their home with pure happiness. They had never seen Raghu so happy and that is why Sudhakar and his pregnant wife Savitri too had become very fond of him.
"Raghu we will bring you a new one," Savitri had already told him this a hundred times since morning but he just wouldn't listen.
"Aai, is God angry with me?" he asked between sobs. He was lying on a torn carpet on the uneven floor with his head resting on his mother's lap.
"Why would God ever be angry with such a sweet boy"?
"First he made me limp and now he's taken away Sonu from me".
Sudhakar was choking inside. Savitri too was fighting her tears. Losing Sonu was a huge loss.
"Raghu if you come with me to our shop today, I'll get you 2 new puppies before Sunday".
"2 puppies? Really Baba"? Raghu asked wiping his tears.
"That's a promise".
Raghu jumped with joy.
"I don't think it's a good idea Sudhakar," Savitri said, " you are running late today. Raghu hasn't slept at all. He also has not eaten anything. He will bother you".
"Savitri I just want to give him some change".
"Aai please let me go with baba. I won't trouble him. Give me a glass of milk and 2 biscuits and I will be ready in 5 minutes".
"That's like my boy," Sudhakar said and picked him up in his arms.
Raghu was immediately filled with energy even before he had his milk. Savitri was happily smiling to herself. She knew the reason behind this sudden burst of energy.
"I will also give you your favourite cream roll and an ice-cream when we return", Sudhakar said as he prepared him for a bath.
Sudhakar used to sell tea, coffee, cream rolls, biscuits and cigarettes at his shop. Cold weather always meant good business. That is why he knew the 3 hours that he had lost today would have cost him 500 rupees atleast. It was too much for someone who was always running on a tight budget. His monthly income was almost equaling his expenses which included the room rent, school fees, daily expenses and Savitri's medical bills. He also had to send some money to his old parents back in the village every month. Now that his family was growing he was also thinking about renting a bigger space to stay.
Savitri, even though pregnant, was still slogging as a house maid to help him make ends meet. But he had decided now .He won't allow her to work anymore, no matter what. The lady she worked for made her toil hard even after knowing her condition. She almost slipped once while mopping wet floor.
"I would take up some odd labor jobs after dropping Raghu to school for some extra income," he said to himself as he quickly put the milk vessel, the paper cups and other items in the rented rickshaw. He picked up Raghu in his arms and left for work.
"Take care Savitri, we'll be back by 10," he told her before leaving.
By the time he reached his shop it was already 6.30. He briskly unlocked the door, removed a stool and asked Raghu to sit on it, just outside his shop. Raghu was wearing a half sleeves shirt, an old ill-fitting sweater which Savitri had purchased for Rs 200 from the lady she worked for, shorts and a pair of slippers.
"Late today"? A cobbler, Gopi, who worked on the pavement just next to his shop asked.
Sudhakar had a quick glance at Raghu who was carefully removing the tea cups from the box. He went a little closer to Gopi and told him about the pup. He also requested him to not bring it up in front of Raghu as that would hurt him again.
"Poor boy, no wonder he's looking so sad".
Raghu's eyes were still red from all the crying.
"Hello Raghu," Gopi greeted him animatedly.
"Hello Uncle".
"His face is too stressed for a 6 year old boy, " Gopi said in a concerning tone. "Children his age should laugh all the time and roam worry free. You should do something about this Sudhakar".
"I have promised him 2 puppies before Sunday. That will change things for him".
"I hope he gets all the happiness in the world," Gopi said as he looked at him affectionately. Raghu had by now removed all the cups and placed it on the table.
"You are a very good boy Raghu, you are helping your father".
Raghu could only manage a half smile in reply. He was deeply thinking about something.
Sudhakar had by now set up his shop and was waiting for his first customer impatiently.
"1 coffee," one of his regular customer came at the stall and asked.
"Sure Sir", he replied as he closed his eyes and looked towards the Gods in appreciation for his first customer.
"Why are you late today, I came down twice looking for you".
Sudhakar's tea shop was near a big business complex. Almost everyone from that building came to his shop for their tea and snacks.
"Here's your coffee Sir".
"Thanks".
"Cigarette"?
"Sorry, no cigarette today. My son is here with me," he said pointing towards Raghu.
"Oh.. ok. No problem. You are a great father".
"Thank you Sir".
"I hope you are sending him to a good school".
"Yes Sir, he goes to an English medium school. He is going to study and become a big man one day and not sell tea like me," he replied cheerfully. There was immense hope in his eyes for Raghu and he was proudly smiling all to himself as if he was actually seeing him becoming a big man in the future.
Soon a lot of customers started pouring in and Sudhakar got busy. Raghu was dozing on and off. One moment he would fall asleep and the next he would wake up with a jolt. Sudhakar was wondering if he did the right thing by bringing him to the shop.
Around 9 p.m all the milk was over. So were the other items. Sudhakar was happy that he had made good money. But Raghu was looking sad again.
"What happened Raghu, are you sleepy"?
It seemed he was lost somewhere and he didn't hear it.
"Raghu I am asking you. What happened?" he bent down and asked while playing with his hair.
"Baba, I am missing Sonu". Tears welled up in his little eyes and came running down his cheeks.
Sudhakar was shattered. He himself was close to tears. How can a small innocent boy like him carry such a heavy heart? He couldn't take it anymore. He picked him up in his arms and held him tightly.
But the next moment he quickly gathered himself and put him back on the stool.
"I think you have forgotten about the two puppies that I am going to gift you tomorrow," he said trying to cheer him up.
"But I only want Sonu", he replied with a breaking voice.
"They will be just like Sonu and you can play with them as much as you want. In fact we all will play together."
Sudhakar was sure once he brings those pups home Raghu will be happy again.
"Now sit here and have this cream roll I saved for you. I'll be back in a minute. Don't go anywhere. I am going to the next building to get some water. We clean it up and we'll be on our way back home. Of course with that ice-cream I promised".
"Okay Baba," he replied.
His eyes followed Sudhakar while he crossed the road in the heavy evening traffic and went to the other side. Sudhakar waved at him before disappearing in the basement of the building.
Suddenly there was a sparkle in Raghu's eyes.
"Sonu," he jumped in excitement.
He spotted Sonu right in the middle of the road wagging its tail excitedly at him.
"Sonu," he screamed again.
"What's the matter boy?" Gopi asked.
"Look Uncle, my Sonu has come back".
Raghu was ecstatic and getting impatient.
"Who's Sonu"?
"My pup, my best friend".
"Where is he, I can't see him"?
"There he is in the middle of the road".
Gopi got up to get a better view.
"But I still can't see him".
Raghu saw a speeding SUV at some distance. He panicked. He didn't want to lose him again. He limped as fast as he could to get Sonu to safety.
Gopi watched in horror as the driver of the SUV tried hard to avoid hitting Raghu. But it was too late.
"Baba," he screamed.
A young woman who had come for her evening stroll screamed and fainted at the spot.
Gopi too collapsed on the road.
Even as the horrified crowd tried lifting the wheels of the SUV, Raghu quickly got up , picked up Sonu in his arms and walked off in the direction of a bright ray of light.
Sonu was happily licking his face, while Raghu laughed and kissed him back.
"Look Sonu, I am not limping anymore," he said animatedly.

Happy 3rd birthday Jack Kline! I wrote a story for his first birthday but I didn't do one last year and since I'm on a Star Wars kick while I wait for my first lightsaber to come in I decided to write another fic for his birthday. This kind of goes along with my Castiel x reader series too.
You walked up to the counter with Castiel close behind you "Excuse us." you said to the lady on the other side. She looked up from the sheet she was reading before smiling at the two of you.
"Can I help you?" she asked.
"We're here to pick up a cake." you informed her. She walked over to a computer and clicked on a few things before turning back to you.
"Name?" she asked.
"Novak." you replied with, you had done a quick search of last names a few weeks ago and while Novak wasn't to common no one would be asking questions if you used it from time to time. Plus Claire was ready to vouch for you if someone said something.
"Okay I'll be back in a second." the lady said before she disappeared around a corner. You could hear her opening and closing a door before she walked back over with a large cake in her arms. "Here you are." she said before handing it over. You looked down at the cake to see pictures of Luke Skywalker fighting Darth Vader on one side of the cake, on another was a picture of a younger Anakin at his home with his mother and the other side had a picture of Rey and Ben Solo fighting Palpatine. There were figurines of C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8 along with the various jets they used in the movies. Underneath all of it in green lettering were the words 'Happy Birthday Jack'.
"Perfect. Thank you." you told the lady with a smile before you and Cas left. You gently placed the cake in the backseat and drove back to the bunker. Sam and Dean had finished decorating it and were putting his gifts on one of the libraries tables when the two of you got in.
"Did you get the cake?" Dean asked and with a smile and a nod you showed him. Dean and Sam looked down at it before nodding their approval and moved out of the way. You placed it in your fridge and called Jody to let her know that you were ready.
"Okay. The movie ended ten minutes ago but traffic leaving the movie theater is kind of bad so we'll be a few minutes." she told you.
"That's fine take your time. Not everyone has shown up yet." you said. As if on cue you heard the flutter of wings and turned to see Adam/Michael behind you with their gift. Dean took it and placed it with the others while Sam showed him where the drinks and snacks were. Next Garth and Bess arrived with their children along while a few hunters that were on good terms with you dropped theirs off. Everyone handed their presents over before heading off to get their drink and snack of choice, five minutes after the last guest had arrived Jody sent you a text telling you that they had just gotten to the bunker. A minute later you heard Jack talking to Jody, Donna and the girls excitedly about the movie before they steered him into the library.
"Happy birthday Jack!" everyone called out and he froze before looking around at all of the decorations. You knew that Jack loved Star Wars so you had insisted that he have a Star Wars themed party. The adults had dressed up as Jedis while the children had dressed up as Padawans, everyone had a plastic lightsaber in either red, green or blue. The balloons were of the various characters while the paper plates, cups and other items were red, blue and green. Jack's mouth hung open as he stared at all of it before he looked at all of you with tears in his eyes.
"Thank you." he said before wiping his tears away. Once he had calmed down enough he walked over to get a drink and some snacks for himself while Jody, Donna and the girls went to change. When everyone was settled you played the various party games you had come up with before doing the cake and ice cream. Once that was all done you had Jack sit in the chair by the gift table and handed him his gifts, Sam and Dean had bought him a brand new game system with age appropriate games to play, Adam/Michael had gotten him movies to watch along with posters of movies and tv shows he had told them he liked while everyone else got him either a boardgame to play, a movie to watch or various toys that they thought he would like. "Is that all of them?" he asked.
"No. Cas and I have one more to give you but it's in our room." you told him.
"I'll go grab it." Cas said before he walked out of the room. While he was gone Sam and Dean set about handing out the little party gifts you had bought for the younger guests. Each one of them thanked them before talking amongst themselves about what they had gotten. Castiel came back with a gift that was almost three feet long and one that was almost a foot long he handed them to Jack who took them despite his confused look and opened them. He looked at the brown box that both of them were in before looking back up at you.
"Here. It makes opening them easier just be careful." Sam said before handing him a knife. Jack took it from him and opened the smaller one up before turning it and gasping when a long silver lightsaber hilt fell into his hand. He quickly put the empty box down before opening the other one and just staring at the blade that came out. Dean grabbed the wrench that was in the one box before helping Jack unwrap his blade and insert it into the hilt. He secured it for him before handing it back to him along with the charger for it. Jack stared in awe at it as he just gently waved it back and forth while the kids stared at him.
"Cool! Jack got an actual lightsaber!" one of them shouted.
"My dad took me to this store that let's you make your own. But I didn't see one like Jack's." another one said as Jack plugged his lightsaber in.
"Does this mean that Jack's a jedi now?" a little girl asked.
"No. But don't worry. I'll be training him as my Padawan." you said with a wink. You had bought yourself one when you ordered Jack's and had already practiced with it. Once his was charged and everyone left you would take him to the gym and teach him how to use his. Eventually everyone went home and the five of you cleaned up the library, you walked over to your room and grabbed your lightsaber. It looked exactly like Leia's and if Cas knew how much you actually spent on it he would of popped a blood vessel.
You walked back out to the library "Jack." you called out, he stopped and turned to see what you wanted. "Grab your lightsaber and meet me in the gym." you said before turning yours own and walking away. You listened with a smile as Jack quickly unplugged his and ran to catch up with you.
Here's what Jack's lightsaber looks like
And this one is yours
